Each year, a staple activity to get into the spring spirit is the classic craft of decorating Easter eggs. Sure, there is the classic food coloring in water technique, but with the idea-sharing capabilities that we are exposed to thanks to technology (especially Pinterest!), there’s no reason that your Easter eggs cant be the best you’ve made to date. This year, we gathered up the latest Easter egg trends in the crafting universe.
These are the easiest, flashiest Easter eggs you will ever feast your eyes on! All you need is glue, glitter and a need for some glam in your life. Take your egg carton and fill one of the egg placements with glue. Dip your egg into the glue at all angles. Dab the egg with a paper towel until the glue is one consistent layer. Then, fill another egg placement with glitter and dip the egg into the glitter at all angles. place on a paper towel to dry.
If you’re looking for a quick and mess-free craft, these sharpie eggs are for you. Head to the craft store and start by picking out some pastel sharpies and the most festive stickers you can find (try and pick stickers that have a good silhouette of the animal/object that they are). Once you have everything you need, place the stickers on the eggs and use a stippling technique to create a series of dots on and around the sticker. Once you pull the sticker off, this will give the shape of the sticker and ‘outlined look.’
Shaving Cream Easter Eggs
Let you and your children’s creativity shine with these shaving cream easter eggs! FIll a cookie sheet with shaving cream and drip food coloring into it. Use a toothpick and create swirls within the shaving cream to give a marbled effect.
Then, drop your egg into the shaving cream for 10 minutes on each side. Dab the egg dry with a paper towel and voila!
