Outside movie fun? Yes, there are awesome opportunities in Rochester. Some venues even have a concert first! The movies are a bit older, but you can’t beat the price: free, which leaves you some cash for some a quick bite to eat at nearby restaurants or food trucks or at the very least some very cool snacks!

Greece hosts the Outdoor Movie at State Street series: Thursdays
Every last Thursday of the month through September is Ladies Night, in which a special movie is shown and giveaways include themes from LOFT, Francesca’s, Benucci’s and Bar Louie.

Movies with a Downtown View: Fridays
Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park at Manhattan Square, 353 Court St.
The lawn opens at 6:30 p.m., with the movie beginning at 8:15 p.m. There will be food trucks and a beer station, or participants are welcomed to bring their own picnic.

Monroe County hosts a series of movies known as Movies in the Parks.
Before each movie there will be a free concert at 7 p.m. A half hour after the band finishes the featured film will begin. This summer the series highlights big anniversaries of some unforgettable films.

Rochester’s College Town also hosts Saturdays at Sunset.
The site is surrounded by multiple restaurant and bar choices, so spectators have a plethora of food options. Movies start at sunset; this week’s selection, which it tonight is The Pursuit of Happyness.
