As the weather draws colder and summer comes to a close, we can begin to look forward to the crisp, cool fall air. However, for many people, a sense of dread sets in as they are plagued by the seasonal malaise of allergies! Allergies can unfortunately make people feel less than excited for the time of the year where they should be ecstatic for pumpkin spice everything, football, apple picking, and best of all Halloween! Many fall activities happen to occur in the great outdoors causing those who suffer from allergies to shy away from spending time with their family and friends. But, it could be worse, as all the time spent indoors gives us time to reflect and at the very least for some it’s not nearly as bad as spring allergies!
Take a few easy precautions while you’re out there enjoying those crisp fall days! Here are some tips to help quell the beast:
- Buy a dehumidifier, as it helps if you are sensitive to dust or molds.
- Be proactive! Rake those leaves; during the fall, leaves that fall from the trees act as a breeding ground for mold. Clearing those away will certainly help!
- Stay clean! Allergens tend to stick to your clothes and body so washing up frequently is absolutely imperative.
This season resolve to not be defeated by this menace! Sometime all we can do is remember to take an allergy pill every twelv e or twenty four hours as to avoid hiding away from the world, wearing a seasonal pumpkin spice hazmat suit, and missing out on all of the fall fun! Here is hoping that the first frost of the year comes sooner, rather than later. To those lucky people who aren’t afflicted by fall allergies as well as those who are; go out and enjoy all that the best time of the year has to offer!
