It’s what we’ve all been waiting for: The Annual Park Ave Fest in Rochester, NY! There is no denying that this festival is one of the many things that bring us together: from the food, the art, the music and the community vibe, the Park Ave Fest never fails to bring a light to this city, and the community! Whether or not you’ve attended this festival before, here is all you need to know about the weekend.
Some of the things to expect at this festival include a juried art show featuring handmade creations of more than 350 artists in 13 different categories, three entertainment stages featuring musicians, dancers, and performances, a shuttle service to and from the parking area, more than 40 different food venues, and plenty of shops. Admission to the festival is free and it is a family-friendly, alcohol-free festival.
Here is a list of all the artists that will be at this year’s festival.
The festival itself stretches a full 1 1/4 miles from Alexander Street (west end) to Culver road (east end), running along Park Avenue. The stretch of Park Ave is closed to traffic from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
You can find the festival map here.
This year’s festival will take place on Saturday, August 5th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, August 6th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
One of the most stressful things about attending festivals can be figuring out where to park. Here’s the low-down.
One-sided parking will be allowed on the neighborhood side streets during the duration of the festival. These spots tend to fill up very quickly, so be sure to check all signs carefully to avoid parking illegally, which can result in a ticket or your vehicle being towed.
Free parking will be offered at the following places:
- behind Gleason Works (1000 University Ave.)
- on Atlantic Ave
- new lot on Atlantic Ave (west of Culver Road, between Culver Rd. and the railroad underpass).
- Monroe Square on Monroe Avenue at Union Street (with shuttles to the festival)
- LIMITED handicap-only parking in the Parkleigh lot (corner of Goodman St. and Park Ave).
Additional off street parking will be offered at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation (962 East Ave) between Berkeley and Barrington Street. This will cost $5 per car.
Now that you have all the details, grab a friend and you can mark your calendars to get ready for a great weekend in Rochester!
