And the Nominees for the 2019 Oscars Are

Who’s ready for the red carpet?  That’s right!  The 2019 Oscars are this Sunday, February 24th.  According to the official website of the 2019 Oscars, here are this year’s nominees in the top two categories (plus a little cheat sheet on the storylines! #YoureWelcome)

Best Motion Picture

Two more films, not mentioned previously, round out the list of Best Motion Picture:
Black Panther:  An action-packed superhero film based on the character of the same name.
BlacKkKlansman: a film by Spike Lee that recounts the true story of the first African-American detective to serve in the Colorado Springs Police Department who bravely sets out on a dangerous mission: infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan.
As usual, there’s a little, unexpected buzz about the 2019 Oscars and this year was no different.  Many celebrities took to social media to protest the exclusion of several awards that were not slated to be televised.  Fear not, the show is back on the road and although it makes for a longer broadcast it is quite fascinating to see categories like cinematography and hair and make-up.
