Fall Foliage, Beer and Wine Tours
It’s officially fall and we know it will be fabulous. One of the best ways to enjoy the season is to take advantage of the great fall events in our area: hayrides, corn mazes, apple picking, (more on those adventures later) and of course, a tour of the fall foliage in our area. Now, we believe in saving you time and money, not just in real estate, in life as well. As long as your going to make an adventure seeing nature’s beauty, you might as well view it from a vineyard too. Here’s our updated guide to Fall Foliage Wine and Beer Festivals. Start making your plans now.
Let’s start with the leaves. New York State issues a fall foliage report every Wednesday afternoon so you can get the scoop on whether or not the leaves are at peak. The color this week is yellow- meaning that the field observers (yes, apparently there is such a thing) are just starting to see some changes.
Best Places to View Fall Foliage
The bottom line: how much time do you have? You can hike, go by rail, drive, walk and yes, even zipline or ride in a gondola. There are so many places to choose from throughout the state. Be sure to check out all the details on the site. We are so fortunate to have Letchworth State Park (Grand Canyon of the East) in our own back yard!
Now, if you’d like to add an adult beverage to the mix, there are some other trails to consider.

Finger Lakes Beer Festival (Saturday, October 22th)
Okay, maybe wine isn’t your thing. How about craft beer? Here are the details from the website:
Do you appreciate a fine handcrafted brew? Schedule your visit to the Finger Lakes around the Finger Lakes Beer Festival at Watkins Glen International Raceway on Saturday, October 22, 2016. You will experience 30 Craft brews from fifteen New York State breweries, as well as live music and food, all at the historic Watkins Glen racetrack. There will also be time for you to explore some of the other breweries on the Finger Lakes Beer Trail during your stay.
Keep in mind that you can tour on any weekend, not just festival weekend, and much like the Wine Trail, there’s a passport option for the beer trail!
